Theory of Computation Simulator ("we", "us", "the Site") is operated by Hakan Bağıç. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Site at theoryofcomputationsimulator.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
Account data. If you create an account to save automata to the cloud or join a team, we store the email address and credentials you provide, via our authentication provider (Supabase). Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Automaton and project data. DFAs, NFAs, PDAs, Turing machines, and other automata you save to your account or share with a team are stored so they can be loaded again and synced with collaborators. If you don't create an account, your work stays in your browser's local storage and is never sent to our servers.
Usage analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages visited, approximate location, device type). It is cookie-free and does not track you individually across sites.
Cookies
We use a session cookie set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in. This cookie is required for account features to work and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking by us.
Advertising
The Site may display ads served by Google AdSense. If enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
How we share data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the infrastructure providers that run the Site — Supabase (authentication and data storage), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Google (advertising, if enabled) — solely to operate the Site.
Data retention and deletion
Account and automaton data is kept for as long as your account exists. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for students and educators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
